My new work truck is the ideal truck to carry me from A to B, yet loading my tools around is quite another story. The idea of a large flatbed to carry and store equipment seemed a good one at the time, however we quickly realized that we should have a way to keep stuff organized and secure at the same time. This insight set me on a hunt for vehicle toolboxes which would have a dual purpose of keeping all of our tools in one, easy to find location, with a locking mechanism that would keep them safe when we were away.
Ladder rack truck toolboxes can offer safe storage for all of your job, play, or out door supplies and equipment. Surprisingly it turns out that we were not the only people who had this bright concept, because we came across a wide selection of pickup tool-boxes to choose from. These tool-boxes come in many different shapes and sizes so that I could get one that would fit our needs the best without taking up too much room in the bed for storage. Because, tools weren’t the only things that I must haul with us to most places.
Some of the ladder rack truck tool-boxes I found fitted right up next to the truck cab, keeping our valuables close on the road while making it hard for anyone to access by just trying to reach in. These units also have strong padlocks that complemented the security factor, that we appreciated very much taking into account the amount of time and money we have invested on tools.
Some of these vehicle units attach to the side of the flatbed and open from the side also, which makes it very easy to get what?s needed without having to climb all over the truck. As you can envisage after a couple of days of jumping on and off the bed each time I needed a different wrench, drill, or hammer, I realized the massive value in this aspect. We also found units that came with rail system so one could simply slide the container toward the back of the truck for quick access, or have it shoved tight against the cab while moving.
Along with being able to put your hand on the container without climbing up and down on the bed to get at something, I realized that compatibility was another major issue. Fortunately, most of the tool boxes that we found were designed to fit the vast common pickups, regardless the model or make. However, there was an concern of size, since I didn’t want to overwhelm the flatbed with a giant unit that provideed more space than I truly needed. An assortment of sizes let me to pick the right amount of space needed.
